This casting was only produced in Hong Kong and has blue tinted windows, an opening hood and the interior was available in assorted colors in which the dashboard and steering wheel are molded. Some colors came with or without a smooth matte black roof. However, those with black roofs are more difficult to find and are valued higher.

Casting Details: 

This casting was only produced in the U.S .and has clear windows and the interior was available only in white in which the dashboard and steering wheel are molded. This casting may be found with a translucent or opaque red dome light. Being both have been found in about the same number there is no difference in value. Some castings can be found where the fenders and rocker panels are painted black in addition to the black trunk and hood. This variation is believed to be a very short, early production run. Yet another variation where blue was used instead of black are strictly prototypes. This casting marks the first use of the pad-printing process on a Hot Wheels casting more commonly referred to as a tampo. The word “POLICE” and a police badge are stamped on the sides.

Casting Details: 

Part of the Grand Prix series, this casting was only produced in Hong  Kong and has a blue tinted wrap-around windscreen, a silver painted vent and the interior was mostly available in black in which the dashboard and steering wheel are molded. Castings found with a tan interior are harder to find and a premium is added to value. Additionally, castings can also be found with a white interior which are rarer then those with tan. A premium is added to value for those with a white interior. A water slide decal sheet was included which consisted of sponsor logos, a white rectangle printed with “SHELBY” and white circles printed with the number “69” for both sides and the rear. A Hot Wheels logo was factory applied to the right side only and is visible from the blister.

Some Toreros can be found with chrome like rear wheels and are believed to be of a very late run. These wheels are correct and are U.S. wheels but when compared to the front wheels, they are much shinier. Magenta, hot pink, light green and yellow are among the most common colors found with these particular wheels.

Dark interior castings are harder to find and have a premium of 50 Lo ~ 100 Hi for loose and 100 Lo ~ 150 Hi for packaged added to value. Some Turbofires can be found with chrome like rear wheels and are believed to be of a very late run. These wheels are correct and are U.S. wheels but when compared to the front wheels, they are much shinier. Magenta, hot pink, light green and yellow are among the most common colors found with these particular wheels.

This casting was only produced in the U.S. and has a clear wrap-around windshield, two chrome engines with side pipes and the interior was available in assorted colors in which the steering rod is molded. Some castings can be found with gold tinted chrome engines. Some examples can be found where the angle of the rear fenders is cut more inwards then the more common ones where the rear fender extends over the entire rear wheel. This “cut fender” variation has a premium added to value and is believed to be a preproduction or a prototype. Some TwinMills can be found with chrome like rear wheels and are believed to be of a very late run. These wheels are correct and are U.S. wheels but when compared to the front wheels, they are much shinier. Magenta, hot pink, light green and yellow are among the most common colors found with these particular wheels

Casting Details: 

This casting was only produced in Hong Kong and has blue tinted windows, side pockets with a yellow or orange surfboard in each and the interior was available in assorted colors in which the dashboard and steering wheel are molded. Originally this casting was made without side pockets and the surfboards stuck out from the rear window, thus coined by collectors as the “rear loader.” Also the moon roof was much smaller. It is believed that this “rear loader” version was rejected before release due to its limiting performance with track sets, in particular those with the Super-Charger. The casting was then modified to include the side pockets to hold the surfboards and also to give the casting more width for improved performance when used with track sets that included the Super-Charger. Collectors coined this version as the “side loader.” Additional modifications include a square block in the middle of the base for added weight, the body was shortened in height for better stability and the moon roof was expanded the full length of the roof. Even though the “rear loader” version was not released for sale, several do exist and are easily the most sought after by collectors and their values are exponentially pricey. A water slide decal sheet was included which consisted of multi colored flowers in various sizes.
